“returning” Mission Waco
Mission Waco is a non-profit organization in Waco, TX, supporting underprivileged and impoverished individuals in various ways. They approached us with a challenge: how to craft a video or story that truly captures the essence of their many services, showing how they come together. Our idea was to tell the story of a man whose life intersected with multiple Mission Waco programs, revealing how he ended up in his situation. We introduced Christian.
Christian’s past was marked by pain and hardship. After experiencing personal hurts and abuses, he turned to drugs and alcohol, ending up homeless. One cold stormy night, he climbed into a dumpster to escape the wind, not in his right mind. He was then dumped into a trash truck and almost crushed by the compactor. Awakening to his reality, he sought help.
His story was told as he found himself at My Brother’s Keeper, Mission Waco’s homeless shelter. There, case workers and counselors directed him to the Manna House rehab program. Mr. V, the director of Manna House, had a significant influence on Christian. After completing the program, Christian reconciled with his family and committed to walking in health and freedom.
Christian’s story serves as a message of impact, purpose, and calling. Watch to learn more about Mission Waco and their work with struggling, addicted, and impoverished people in Waco.
